Congrats on the two-month mark, Adrian! Love this model—keeping the front door wide open for everyone while giving folks who have been blessed a clear way to support the work.
Thanks Tyler. I do realise it will likely reduce the number of folks who will want to subscribe but at least it won’t limit the availability of my work. It’s been over 20 years where each year I have subsided my writing when you take into account costs etc so I certainly haven’t been doing this to get rich!
I’m glad it works for you! I am using a translate tool on my phone to read your messages. I didn’t know that Substack gave you translate buttons that’s great that it does. Is there a big Dutch speaking Christian community on here?
Dutch speaking community? I don't know. I'm on Substack just a few weeks now. I haven't found, but it's not necessary to me; çause of the translate buttons.
The connection between fellow christians feels nearly overwhelming so far... ☺
While I don’t have the followers or subscribers or probably even deserve it, my discipleship curriculum I teach in person I’ve decided will cost something. There is a cost to discipleship whether it be money or time and energy, for now it is my time and energy I suppose.
It’s really not about deserving brother! And as far as charging for a course or even for a substack I have no issue with that if others decide to. I just personally don’t want to.

Waardevolle post, Adrian! Dank je wel voor het delen
Thanks. Did you get an automatic translation of this into Dutch? Was it good quality?

I couldn’t agree more about how beautiful the Christian community is on here. Feels like a real expression of church
